Terms of use
Last updated: August 28, 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms of use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the afk.watch website, mobile app, desktop companion, APIs, and related services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to enter into a binding agreement, whichever is higher. You sign in through GitHub and are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account, devices, API key, and other credentials used with the Service. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or reporting key has been compromised.
You may not share access in a way that bypasses account limits or use another person’s account without permission.
3. What the Service does
afk.watch is a queue runner and monitoring companion for developer-authorised GitHub issues. It can show concise agent-run status and reports, manage the ready-for-agent label, and run approved issues one at a time through supported coding clients on your Mac. A successful local AFK run may create a branch and draft pull request. The Service does not automatically merge, deploy, or release your work.
You remain responsible for deciding which repositories and issues to connect, reviewing all generated changes, and testing them before use. Coding agents and third-party services can make mistakes. Do not treat generated output as automatically correct, secure, or fit for production.
4. Your repositories and run content
You keep all rights in your repositories, issues, run reports, and other content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain the Service. afk.watch is designed to store issue metadata, one latest progress line, and a final Markdown report—not source-code repositories or full agent logs.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for any repository, issue, credential, and content you connect or submit.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law, violate another person’s rights, or access systems or repositories without authorisation;
- distribute malware, facilitate fraud or phishing, or create unlawful or abusive content;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass security or usage controls, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- scrape or collect other users’ data, resell access without permission, or misrepresent generated work as reviewed when it is not; or
- use the Service in a way that could harm afk.watch, its providers, or other users.
We may limit or suspend activity that reasonably appears to violate these Terms or threaten the Service.
6. Third-party services
The Service interoperates with services such as GitHub, Supabase, Cloudflare, Expo, Apple, Google, Resend, Stripe, and coding-agent providers. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of their products. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or changes they make.
7. Fees
Some features may require a paid subscription. Prices, billing periods, taxes, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable. You may cancel renewal through the purchase channel; access continues through the paid period.
8. Intellectual property
The Service’s software, design, documentation, branding, and other materials are owned by or licensed to afk.watch and protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not grant rights to our name, logo, or other branding.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, non-payment, or material harm to the Service or others. Where practical, we will provide notice.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law—will survive.
10. Service changes and availability
We may change, discontinue, or limit parts of the Service. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free agent output, preservation of data beyond stated retention periods, or that the Service will meet every requirement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, afk.watch and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, repository changes, or business interruption arising from the Service.
Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of €100 or the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable advance notice through the Service or by email when available. Continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the courts of Sweden, except that consumers may have mandatory rights to bring claims in their country of residence.
